Our stay at Siena Village Resort in Chinnakanal, Munnar, was a blissful escape from the heat and humidity of the plains in Aluva and beyond. The journey along Painavu road through Nedumkandam and Poopara was a scenic delight, with its winding roads devoid of potholes and traffic, offering us a smooth ride and the chance to explore new places along the way. We were particularly impressed by the brand new highway from Poopara to Chinnakanal, which added to the overall convenience of our journey. Upon arrival at the resort, we were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink. The resort's layout was impressive, seamlessly blending into the mountainous terrain with its cottages nestled amidst well-maintained lawns, gardens, and viewpoints. The rooms were comfortably furnished with all necessary amenities, and the bathrooms were squeaky clean. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, with courteous and prompt assistance in every department. We indulged in delicious meals at the on-site restaurants and were fortunate to visit during a quieter weekday, avoiding the weekend crowds. The breathtaking mountain views, coupled with glimpses of Anairnkal Lake below, added to the charm of our stay. One of the highlights of our trip was the visit to Kulukkumalai, one of the nearby peaks, accessible via an off-road jeep ride. Despite the bone-rattling journey, the panoramic views from the viewpoint, perched near a precipice, were awe-inspiring. While we couldn't stay to witness the full sunrise due to the chilly winds and altitude, the experience was unforgettable. Exploring the resort's vegetable and fruit gardens, as well as their cardamom plantation, added to the adventure. Overall, our stay at Siena Village Resort was enchanting, and we look forward to returning for another memorable experience.

The property is impeccably maintained inside and outside the houses. The home is beautiful – the views are better than they appear in the photographs. Plenty of landscaped shrubbery, and it's a balm for city-sore eyes. The air is crisp, and quiet. Do request for a bonfire, and spend time walking outdoors to witness a star-filled night sky. A spot table tennis, pool, and chess were nice options (although the equipment need a touch-up). Right from Biju, the gatekeeper, each staff member is not only courteous but friendly, helpful, and skilled – most hospitable and nice to interact with. Susheel, the General Manager, was a delight to meet – he showed us around the plantations, introducing us to the fruits and vegetables they grow there, extended to us a lovely beetroot halwa on the house, and suggested a scenic route to drive back to Kochi. Shakti Raj, the day manager, was equally helpful in suggesting places to visit nearby, and serviced every request we had. The food is deliciously prepared, and the range is quite something in an otherwise sparse culinary stretch. While the tandoor was closed, their curries, desserts, and more make a fine spread. Their complimentary breakfast was very good indeed – the idiappam and egg roast as well as the puttu and peanut curry call for special mention. Plenty to do nearby: Kolukkumalai for sunrise (you get jeeps outside the property), Surianalle tea factory (you can pick up their teas and other spices from Siena), Tata Tea Museum, Top Station view point, and more. I'll be looking to visit again. They have another property at Thekkadi – Springdale, if of interest.

The location and elevations are so beautiful. We enjoyed serene beauty of Idukki and sun rise from the hotel. The breakfast is so tasty. But this place is not friendly to elderly persons as the reception and rooms are placed at different locations. The slope and uneven pathways may obstruct free movement. The staffs are not cooperative. When we asked to clean our room they said there are no staffs to clean the room after 5 PM.

Excellent location with amazing view of the mountains and the valley from our cottage. The hospitality & service is worth mentioning. Chef Jobin cooked some beautiful local dishes (veg & non veg) were mouth watering. Recommend to try the tribal menu which is on the menu card.Local cuisines in the buffet breakfast was awesome. Kudos to the Property manager Mr Sushil & his entire team including the front office and restaurant manager who made our stay warm, pleasant & very comfortable.
